Getting Closer to Opening Day

We are still looking forward to our first Sunday.  Keep praying with us that in this depressed economy we will continue to receive donations.  We have been blessed to date and we know that God is able.  This is a great area of need with fewer than 2% of the population even attending any church and Clearwater being the senter of Scientology.  Any fundamental Baptist ministry from any other state should be jumping at the chance to support a work right at the door step of the $40 million ediface that is the Church of Scientology.  The former Independent Baptists of this area have, for the most part, become CCM loving patsies who stand for nothing and practice the heathen right of "Worship."  The Bible nowhere talks about worship services associated with any church function.  The only reference to worship is that of worshipping the devil.  The Tampa Bay area is full of churches with this heathen practice.  Bay Area Baptist Church is a true "Called Out" eklasia as the Bible describes the church.  When a church is defined as the Bible defines a church, I dare say that there may be one or two "churches" in the whole of Tampa Bay and they are just barely doing a job for God.  The truth is that if there were a Bible Believing church on every square mile of this area, we still would not have enough workers to reach the lost.  Come and join with us, call us, write to us, and donate as God leads.  THIS IS A TRUE MISSION FIELD AS NEEDY AS ANY IN THE WORLD.

Only One Month Away

We are looking forward with great anticipation to our opening day. We have people from all over the country and even Canada visiting our web site at BayAreaBaptistChurch.com and we are starting to do voice broadcasting to the local area to find people who are interested in an old fashioned Independent Baptist Church. We also have just updated our site and we are exploring ways to get on the radio. If you are from out of state and have been watching our site, we need your prayers and financial help. Please visit our main site to make a donation which will be used to rent space to open our doors on March 1, 2009.

We had a call from First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana this week checking our web site and making sure that they have the correct information for our church. We will never forget our days at First Baptist Church and our college days at Hyles-Anderson College which is associated with the church. We plan to get our staff members and school teachers from that great soul-winning college. We thrill to see the work still going on. If anyone visits our mail site you will see a link to First Baptist Church where you can see a live simulcast of their Morning and Evening Services. Of course, since they are one hour behind us in time, we are already done with our services before First Baptist has their services. Many times we also get to be a part of the service through the medium of the internet.

Giving to this work is giving to soul-winning which has all but stopped in the Tampa Bay Area. We went over to the site of the Super Bowl and were touched by the masses of people there. The same holds true of this area every Sunday during Football season. Thousands of people that have no direction attend the sports events and so many of them are totally unchurched. True there are a few churches here but the fields are white as the Bible says. No church is running busses or planning to have the various outreach ministries we envision. A gift to this work is an investment in the souls of men and there is no investment greater than that. God bless you as you give to lay up treasures in Heaven.

PRAYING FOR $5000 TO OPEN OUR DOORS!

We are praying that God will provide funds in the amount of $5000 or more for our acquiring of the building for our opening of the church on March 1, 2009. We need $1000 just for the initial amount on the building. We also need to buy supplies and Sunday School materials as well as to pay for advertising. We are using a Voice Broadcast system from iBuzzPro which costs only 1.9 cents per call. We have a data base of 50,000 home owners and residents in Pinellas Count. In order to contact all these people it costs approximately $300 per 10,000 calls. From these calls we will have hundreds of people to visit and we have two families now who have offered to help us visit these prospects. During this process we will also come across other Independent Baptist Families that are looking for a place to meet. For any one that has been reading this blog and praying for God to get this church going in this needy area, please tell everyone that you know to contribute to these expenses. In addition to the building and the expense of making the calls, we also will need funds for legal work and other types of advertising. God is beginning to do a miraculous thing here and we see his hand daily as needs are met. Now we need not only our personal needs which God has been abundantly supplying but we also need the needs of the church, an infant that needs the strength of backing, to be supported by the gifts of God's people. With several million souls in this area without any church, you are investing in a soul-winning church intent on carrying out the Great Commission to reach these people.

After we have done our first campaign with voice broadcasting to find Independent Baptists or unchurched that may be looking for a church we will launch a massive campaign to find people who are desiring to find out how to be 100% sure that they are going to heaven. These campaigns are less expensive than any TV, Radio, or print advertising but are far more effective since they can get immediate responses from people that we contact. For more information on this system please visit Church Prospecting.

For those who want to make a donation, please go to our main site at BayAreaBaptistChurch.com and find the donation page. You will be able to make your donations there. We will be setting up a special account from the donations that come in for use in the described expenses for starting this church. God bless each and every one that gives. Any church that would like to know more about the Church Prospecting software, please visit the site listed and contact us for more information. We believe that this is truly the Soul-Winning tool of the 21st Century.

Goal to Start on March 1, 2009

We have been working to get a place to meet and we have found the Summit Executive Center at the Icot Center in Clearwater. The owner said that he would be thrilled if the church would be born in his building since he has had 5 other churches born in that building. By having an office there we would have access to numerous conference rooms for services and for classes for children. The facility is very first class and we will have our own phone and an office for all church material and records. We will also have a receptionist with the building that will answer the phone during normal weekly business hours.

We are praying that God will lead us to those who are looking for a soul-winning church and that they want to work with us to build this ministry for the Lord. We are raising $1000 for the payment to move into our office and we pray that anyone interested will go to our church site and make a donation there. This includes the first and last month and also the cost of the phone line and other start up fees. The monthly amount is only $350 per month and we are not tied to a one or two year contract. This makes it possible for us to build a group of people and then get a more permanent location without being tied down to long-term agreements. We feel that God will lead someone to pay the whole amount of $1000 or even a large portion. We have already begun to receive small amounts for which we are grateful. Any money that comes in above the needed initial cost or monthly payment will go to other things like the legal paperwork for the church, Sunday School materials, business cards, brochures, small signs to put around the area giving directions to the church, and printing costs for any necessary printed materials.

This area used to have some good soul-winning churches with bus ministries but those have either changed or moved. With millions of people in the Tampa Bay area and with Clearwater being the center for Scientology for the country, there was never more of a great need than there is right now. Since we are graduates of the "World's Largest Sunday School" we have a vision of being able to reach people in dozens of different ministries. Nothing was ever built without travail and nothing was born that did not need to start out small. We are so excited because we love people and if we never grow into a big church we want all to know that God loves them and anyone can be 100% sure that they are saved. Please call the number on our web site on the "Contact" area for a message from the Pastor. We are also praying that God will lead people even from other parts of the country to move here to help in this great mission field of millions without the Gospel.

God has so much love for you!

I know that this is a day when people are hurting and so many have family problems, financial problems and health problems. I just thought that I should write this note just to say how much Jesus cares about your every need. He wants so much to have you call upon his name. There is a very sweet Bible verse that says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

(Matthew 11:28-30)

If you ever need someone to pray with you or just need someone to talk to, please call any time. We are always there to help the needy and to pray for every situation. God has a wonderful way of working things out for His glory.

In the Love of Christ,

Pastor David Williams

Look for an announcement soon about meeting!

Anyone who is interested in a soul-winning church with old fashioned music and standards with a REAL VISION to reach people in the Tampa Bay area should keep looking at this blog for updates. We are hoping that God will open a door for us to have a place to meet by this fall. God is working some things in our lives that look very positive and we are expecting to begin to reach out with some new software that will dial thousands of people in the community and give them information about our church. We are hearing from people who have seen our site on the internet and we have already met with some of them. If you have not called yet, please do not hesitate to call us at 727-729-6652 and let us know of your interest.

When Have You Really Seen a Harvest of Souls

Many that read this blog will say in their minds that there are many churches in the area or that they already go to a church. OK! Let me ask you a good question. When is the last time you won a soul to Christ? Well, how about your church? How many people have been saved there in the past year? How about in the past 10 years? At that rate, how fast do you think that the almost 2 million non-churched in the Tampa Bay Area will find Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?

Now, let me ask you another question. What is the plan or your pastor or church for reaching this area? Read this blog and you can see our plan. Name just one church in the whole Tampa Bay area that has anything like our plan. If there are any, you can count them on one hand. So even if someone has some form of plan, are you involved? If not, no matter what church you are attending right now, you are attending a lost cause. You need to take a look at this challenge and ask yourself if you want to keep dying on the vine or would you like to be a part of something really wonderful, a church that has a REAL PLAN to win the area to Jesus Christ. Then, call the number on our web site or write us at our email: bayareabaptistchurch@gmail.com
